First of all, welcome to our new members and subscribers. The eNewsletter is growing in popularity, so we hope you’ll spread the word further. There are several ways to do this – you can use the facebook ‘share’ button and/or the twitter ‘share’ button just below the rotating gig guide banner, and you can also forward the nesletter to a friend, by using the link just above the unsubscribe button (which we hope you don’t use) at the bottom of the page.

Now, before you get to the juicy bits of the newsletter, just a quick reminder of who’s performing tomorrow night (Tuesday 10 May).

First up is Kim Churchill at 8pm. From starting his career in 2010, Kim is fast becoming a household name in Australia, thanks to his extraordinary guitar talents, explosive live show and constant touring.

The main act for the night is P J O’Brien, known for his particularly feiry, skillful guitar playing and songwriting that belie his years and embody the sounds of his influencies – Buddy Guy, Albert King, Albert Collins and Freddie King, to name a few.

Last up is four-piece, blues-based rock cover band Shakey Jake, guaranteed to get the dancefloor bursting with party favourites from the likes of Free, Thin Lizzy, Humble Pie, Johnny Winter and Peter Green.

Legends on the Loose – Tuesday 17 May

A new iconic night arises on the annual PBC calendar with Legends on the Loose, a veritable host of local blues legends struttin’ their stuff on the PBC stage for two spellbinding sets.

This eclectic mix of top Australian musicians, each a legend in their own right, join together for one big night of bluesy-rocky favourites.

Kyla Brox Band (UK) makes a welcome return to the PBC – Tuesday 24 May

Kyla BroxKyla’s Brox’s voice remains a stunning example of the soul singer’s art: turning up the heat by degrees, lulling and charming before unleashing emotional catharsis, and blurring the distinction between pleasure and pain like the soul greats of old.

Whether fronting the mighty Kyla Brox Band, or harnessing undiluted soul power in a duo with musical and life partner Danny Blomeley, she is without doubt the most authentic UK blues and soul singer of her generation.

Kyla doesn’t make it to our shores very often – last time at the PBC was February 2009 – so make a point of getting down to the club on Tuesday 24 May, or you might have another two years’ wait to hear this sensational soulful singer.

Tickets from Ticketmaster.
