Bahrain’s King Hamad just sentenced eight human rights activists to life in prison on trumped up conspiracy charges. Though he claims to advocate for peaceful dialogue, this behavior is anything but civil.
According to Al-Jazeera, among the prisoners are some of the Arab region’s most respected human rights activists. By sentencing them to a life in prison, King Hamad is sending a clear message: Bahrain is ruled by a tyrant.
Four hundred more activists are currently awaiting trial. Now is the time to call for real justice in Bahrain.
