#Perth @GetUp Senate Candidates Forum next wednesday @SenatorLudlam @GerryGeorgatos

Next Wednesday night you have a chance to hear directly from candidates running for the Senate in Western Australia – a crucial race that could determine whether one party gets absolute legislative power after this election.

A team of local GetUp members has organised a forum of Senate candidates, representing the broad political spectrum, who will make their pitch for your vote and answer your questions about the policy issues that matter. It’s how GetUp members put important issues on the agenda and make sure the candidates know Western Australian voters expect their politicians to stand up for a fair economy, social justice and a sustainable environment.

We can only have that influence on the Senate candidates if we show up. When the candidates see an auditorium full of passionate GetUp members they’ll know they need to take us seriously. Whoever is elected, they’ll remember the issues we raise and the questions we ask.

Your fellow GetUp members have done an amazing job pulling this event together. Will you join them on the night?
RSVP now to let us know you’re coming.

This forum has been organised by a group of local Perth GetUp members who’ve committed their time to organising this forum so that your future Senators are accountable to the community they want to represent.

It will be a fun, interesting night with a feisty debate and a lively question and answer session on the issues that really matter this election. Think of this as an antidote to spin and soundbite politics. After all, it’s not every day you get a chance to have a meaningful conversation with your prospective political candidates.

I hope you’ll join us on the night.

Carl, for the GetUp team on behalf of Angela, Ben, Elvira, Linda, Paul, Peter, Remco and Sebastian in Perth
